Sailing away from each other
Carried by opposing currents
My nightmare from the past
It is catching up on me
Something new to be feared, it brings
Deafness on it's one side
Muteness on the other
Gifts, as presented, to us
Being stripped bare, it feels
With no you to protect
From the open vulnerability
That humiliates me
Down Insanity's throat
I found myself
Over the lost time
I've been exposed
But a sinking feeling in the gut:
Cradled in my hands, close to my heart
Now gone, empty and hollow
